I was part of a group of five actors on the set of The Mauritanian. We were the cast who supported the lead character, Nancy Hollander, who was played by Jodie Foster. We were on her advocacy team and shot together daily.
From the very first day of filming, a fellow actress, Charissa, and I hit it off as I was drawn to her kindred spirit, kind character, wonderful wit, smart demeanor, and caring nature. Every day, we would hang out together during our breaks and constantly chat between sets, so much so that after wrapping up the movie, we remained in contact. I am a guest facilitator on her retreat that she has been running for years. Initially, we wanted to implement our collaboration directly after filming and were in the middle of our plans when the pandemic struck and all borders had closed. Finally, we are able to bring our vision into fruition and invite you to join the experience, which encompasses:
Jodie Foster won a golden globe for her role in the movie that brought Charissa and me together, and we were awarded with the ultimate gift of an invaluable friendship.
