I’m a comfort seeker, I love luxury and appreciate beauty. Special places are sort after. I continuously search to find delights that make me stop and stare in admiration and involuntarily marvel at the magnificent sights.  When it comes to accommodation, I want the best, and I realize the immense effort and attention to detail that go into attaining 5 stars. The pride and joy of the visionaries who create the majestic masterpieces that we get to enjoy at our leisure.  I'm an avid traveler and have experienced some of the best hotels in the world. I can therefore undoubtedly state that Cape Town is competitive with the globe’s most exquisite and elite attractions. Our accommodation is bar none to par excellence, and for it to be amidst incredibly beautiful mountains and oceans is what dreams are made of.  I take full advantage of having so many remarkable hotels on my doorstep and make a point of visiting often for a getaway, whether it be for the day or an indefinite staycation.  My favourites are as follows:

Gardens:

Mount Nelson is a pretty pink place that is pristine and surrounded by a beautiful big garden. It has two huge pools as well as a spa on the property. Situated beneath Table Mountain, everything you need is within walking distance. I enjoy the high tea for a midday treat or the Planet Bar for an evening social.

15 on Orange is opposite the Labia Theatre, which is an interesting accessible extra to have for added entertainment in such close proximity. There is something on the menu to suit anyone and a lovely patio area adorned with deck chairs around the pool for easy dining.

The Protea Fire & Ice is a fun experience with a very quirky interior.

The Cape Milner is cosy, quaint, and a hidden treasure in the middle of Tamboerskloof.

Cape Town Central:

Grand Daddy boutique hotel is storey-upon-storey of an interior designer’s wildest dream. Host to a caravan park on the rooftop in the middle of town’s most busy road, Long Street, makes it a unique place to experience.

The Hyatt Regency has a very Arabian feel to it and suitably has the colouful Bo-Kaap as a beautiful backdrop. The outdoor terrace reminds me of the striking barazas in Marrakech. Surprisingly, it has an in-house chocolatier where one can purchase the most deliciously decadent sweet treats. All resistance crumbles upon sight, and needless to say, I always indulge.

The Southern Sun Cape Sun is in Strand Street, which is in the middle of town. It is a high-rise building with a glass elevator, which transports one up and down. This is not for the faint-hearted or those with a fear of heights. I can’t get enough of the exciting means of transfer and therefore make a point of visiting the Camelot Spa on the top floor as the views are incredible.

Foreshore:

The Cullinan is gorgeously attractive. If it were a person, I’d describe her as a Vogue cover girl. When visiting, I make a point of going for an opulent African pampering session at the Mangwanani Spa.

The Westin is wonderful and conveniently set next door to the Cape Town International Convention Centre. What I love about it most is the business lounge on the top floor. Post a meeting, walk down the hallway to the spa, and have a massage and sauna. What could be better than serene spoils with the best panoramic views of Cape Town?

Sky Hotel is any artist's best canvas filled with art, so abstract your imagination will take you to your wildest dreams. On offer is the only rooftop jump in Cape Town that allows for the type of panoramic views that won't only take your breath away but will also turn any frown upside down.

V&A Waterfront:

The V&A Waterfront is host to an array of prestigious gems such as Radisson Blue, Raddison Red, Silo, Table Bay, One & Only, Commodore, Cape Grace, and the like. All of which are a must to experience, and it’s conveniently situated within walking distance of the mall for your shopping pleasure.

Green Point:

Cape Royale is located in Somerset Road admits the distinguished Cape Quarter, which is where some of the best local hangouts, eateries and boutique stores can be found.

Sea Point:

The New King’s Boutique Hotel is a quaint and cosy place where I hangout often. This has become my second home as I often chill in the charmingly cute and inviting lounge.

Bantry Bay:

The President is delightful for a suntanning session in summer. The outdoor area is one that I most enjoy and you can often find me there having a float in the pool.

Camps Bay:

The Bay is set in the main road across from the beach. The scene reminds me of a coastal holiday paradise.

The 12Apostles is located between Camps Bay and Llandudno and the mountain is literally the back garden. A hidden jewel directly across from the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of my most frequented favourites as I adore relaxing in the Leopard Lounge and am fond of writing in the conservatory, which is where my creative juices tend to best flow.

These are nothing less than perfect picturesque precision pieces that are on the pulse of pure pristine pleasure, in the pretty place that I get to call home - and being home simply means that I’m in precious hotel heaven.
