On Friday, 6th October 2023, I completed the final assessment successfully, which concluded the 300-hour teacher training requirements conducted through conscious movement education by The Source, and have therefore attained the Yoga Alliance-recognized qualification. This has made me so happy because, as of today, I can finally reveal that I am a Vinyasa and Yin Yoga teacher.
When I started the initial 200-hour teacher training that had commenced at the end of August 2019, it was unbeknown to me that I would advance to the 300-hour course thereafter. I certainly did not expect it to bring me so much joy and positive progression. The expansion in my understanding of the discipline cannot go unnoticed, and I have developed a deeply rooted respect for the Ashtanga principles. The profound impact that the Patanjali Sutras, i.e., yamas (abstinences), niyama (observances), asana (posture), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation), and samadhi (absorption), have on my composure and confidence is truly remarkable.
I have taken the decision to continue to pursue this further and take it to a higher level of engagement; hence, my next goal is to join a 500-hour program, as I would love to specialise in Nidra, Ayurveda, Bhakti and perhaps learn more about Kundalini and Aerial too.
Upon reviewing and processing the events that have led to the present moment, I cannot deny the exponential growth in every area of my existence due to the knowledge that I have acquired through the study of Yoga.
I have come to realise that Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is undoubtedly the most invaluable gift of the now and, ultimately, the dance of tomorrow.
