Being an actress, you never know what part you’ll be cast for next. My agency sends me for interesting roles, and it is a great feeling when I eventually land a part.

I had never worked on a nonfictional plot before, and when I put foot on set, I became fascinated by the unveiling of the facts that had ensued. The lead characters were Hollywood A-listers whom I never thought I’d ever sit next to, let alone work with. I was star struck during the first scene I had played alongside them. It was a moment of awe, gratitude, and pure surrealism.

As I researched more of the documented information outlining the script, I found a deeper respect for the movie that was being made. By the fourth day of shooting, I had become seamlessly interwoven into character. The moment the person whose story was being told and their real-life heroine made an appearance behind the scenes, I immediately felt something that I had never experienced before in my life. This time I wasn’t star struck—what I had experienced was far greater. The person whose story we were telling and the heroine who saved his life were there in the flesh. Unbelievable. Honored doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt.

When we had finally wrapped, I sensed a momentous accomplishment—not for me, but for the person whose story was being told and the lady who had the courage to stand up for what she believed in, no matter the serious consequences and challenges she had faced during her heroic fight for justice. Life changing all around—true story!
