I studied marketing communication at AAA School of Advertising and acquired two specializations, media management and brand management. I studied part-time whilst working at an advertising agency, and as my studies progressed, so did job opportunities for me to consider in the industry. Over time, I was awarded the positions of media buyer, media planner, media manager, and media director. From the advertising agency space, I swapped over to the media owner sphere and was appointed in business development across press, print, radio, and television.
After a fruitful stint, I decided to take a break and pursue a different passion. In September of 2019, just before the pandemic began, I enrolled in a 200-hour Yoga Teacher course with Conscious Movement Education conducted with The Source to be trained in the two disciplines of Yin and Vinyasa. Philosophy, meditation, pranayama, and bhakti were also part of the syllabus, and it was an enriching experience that I would recommend to anyone who is curious about Vedaism. My plan was that after graduating, I would concentrate my efforts into teaching at international retreats. I had met a lady who runs the Swimming with Dolphins Retreat in Hawaii, and we had agreed that I would join and offer yoga as part of the experience. I was one exam away from completing my teacher qualification and was also in the process of finalizing our retreat to Hawaii when the pandemic started and all international borders had closed.
After waiting for a year, I realized that travelling was not possible, thus I needed to proceed with alternate plans for work. I ventured back to Media and was lucky enough to be granted a contract in the Digital Publisher terrain as of 1st April 2021. I was formerly educated in traditional media, and in June 2021, I went back to university to study digital marketing in order to be sufficiently equipped to apply myself adequately in my new designation. I gained the qualification with a 98% pass mark and have been with the company ever since. I seem to be settling into the Metaverse more and more as I grow and find the enthusiasm to further explore. I've been accepted to AAA School of Advertising again and this time round it is for Copywriting that commences in September 2022. I am excited to keep progressing and develop my skillset as I expand my knowledgebase in the pursuit of finding my place in the wonderful world of advertising, branding, media and marketing.
I have a deep passion for all things yoga, and in October 2021, I started a part-time 300-hour yoga teacher training with The Source, which is an upgrade on the previous full-time course. I am one assessment away from completion and have decided to continue to pursue this path. I aspire to complete the 500-hour course in the near future. With each upgrade comes a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject matter in a theoretical and practical sense, as well as an extended syllabus comprising of more interesting subjects such as ayurveda and nidra.
I have no idea where this is all headed and as many challenges as this journey unveils, it has proven to be rewarding and fulfilling at the most unexpected of moments. Once the realization is made that growth is not always easy and that with the discomfort of change comes new opportunities that most often lead to greater things, without question or hesitation you'll witness the mysterious working of wonders.
